best location for sub (92 hatch)
i have a jl audio 12w6 that i want to put into my new hatch. my question is....where is the best place for it? i was thinking of making a fiberglass enclosure in the spare tire well. i was also thinking of trading my 12 for a 1o and making an enclosure in the passenger side foot well. whadduh think is my best option?thanks in advance.
in my hatch i had a few different systems, 8 kicker comp 12's, 2 JL 10w3's, 1 ED 15", 1 RE MT 15", 1 12" pioneer spl 5k.
If you want show quality and don't mind losing your spare, as noted, the tire well will suffice.
If you want spl, go ported, fire the sub and port into the rear left corner at an angle. if you remove the rear seat. fire subs up, port backwards.
For regular daily listening, fire subwoofer to the rear if your just gonna go sealed.

I went for a sealed enclosure with a 8" JBL sub..............I have pics if you want. It's mounted behind the spare wheel. Still in the back 100% hidden and takes up no boot space.

ok, so i take it your trunk area doesn't leak, ha.. i wouldn't do an install like that because every honda i've ever owned has leaked in the trunk area and filled the well with water. i always have to drill tiny holes in the bottom to keep water from sitting up. and never can find the leak, sucks..

The marks on my trunk carpet was where I was lugging around a leaky gearbox btw.
