2000 Accord EX V6 Front Seat Removal
Hey guys wondering if you could help me out. There is something wrong with the front seat of my 2000 Accord and it feels as if something broke anchoring it down. I know how to remove the seat from the floor obviously and I also know about the connectors for airbags, belt, etc.... My question is do I have anything to worry about the airbags if I remove the seat from the car to see what broke so I can fix it? If I disconnect the airbag and recconnect to I have to get the whole system reset then? It seems as if the seat is coming loose from the pan on the bottom. It will be much easier for me to fix it if I can just take the seat out and mess with it. I just want to be safe with the airbag. Thanks guys!
There are four bolts holding down the seat and those just need to be removed to remove the seat. As for the Airbag, the SRS system will need to be reset after you reinstall the seat and reconnect the SRS connectors. There is a writeup on how to reset the system in the FAQ thread here in this forum. You should not have any problems with the airbags as long as you have the battery disconnected when you remove the seat either. I removed mine a few times before I replaced the seats and I never had the airbags deploy on any of the times that I removed them. If you need any further guidance then just come back here and ask.
