I believe that the weight is about 2,041 lbs. if not exactly then it is within 50lbs. + or -. Horsepower is a whopping 70 hp, and I'm not exactly sure on the torque. It is supposed to get 35 mpg. Hope that helps your decision to go to a zc, B16, B18, B20, or H22.
Hatch
STD - D15B1 ~70hp
DX ED6 D15B2 ~92hp
Si ED7 D16A6 ~108hp

the 70 hp's 38 mpg i got last week is more than enough for a beater. i've got an integra for when i want to go fast, that's the whole reason i've built it. in the next 6-12 months i'll be done fixing her cosmetically and getting the stereo down how i want it... then it'll be time for the b20 swap.

the choice would be obvious if that was true. the site had great intention and was layed out very nicely, but someone needs to critique it a little.
How much harder would the b20 swap be in the hatch when compared to a b16 or b18 swap? i'm assuming the motor would have to be mounted quite a bit lower than the other b-series.

I'll post the pic from the weigh station next time I go but last time I went, I was at 1,840 lbs. I was quite pleased with the results of gutting out my car, and tearing this and that out.
Oh yeah this was at a Washington State Patrol weigh station off of I-5 so I know it's calibrated quite well.

B20 is exactly the same as B18, block and head sizewise. Only difference is the piston diameter and intake manifold. I would assume the same procedure in mounting the B18 would apply to the B20.
thanks for that answer. i was being led to believe by a local honda-tech guru wanna be that the b20 was actually larger in size and required the subframe to be slightly modified MORE so than if going with a b series. erik
i just took my stereo off and the pass seat. and my car weighted 2040.. the stock weight for the STD's are 2167 or somewhere around there.... go look at http://www.hondaswaps.com
the 88 is a totally different car than teh 90 ur car is a pig compared to teh 88 teh 88 doesnt have as much bumper reinforcements teh door reinforcements arent there as hte seatbelts are on the pillar....even the exhuast is smaller...and less tar **** in side teh car...

I have a 1988 Civic STD. And according to the factory Honda manual (which I was lucky enough to get with the car!), this car weighs 1989 pounds without A/C. If you have A/C, add another 45 pounds. This car has actually had quite a few engines while in my hands - the original 70HP (83ft-lb torque) STD motor, a D16A6 (from my old CRX SI), a B18B, and now a B20Z. Honestly, the B20Z is the best thing that ever happened to that car. With 141HP, 129ft-lb torque (both measured at the wheels), that car flat out FLIES! It is really fun to have a scrappy looking Civic that can lay waste to a stock 5.0 and just about any other Honda out there. In fact, there are not many cars that you commonly see that are faster.
