i have a b16 hydro trans that needs a case and diff with finaldrive. i have a complete gsr trans but 5th gear sycro went out. would it be possible to swap all parts from the b16 trans into the gsr trans with gsr diff and final drive.

You can swap the b16 internals but will need to re-check the mainshaft thrust clearance if u want to use the gsr case with the b16 internals being as how there is a different mainshaft in place now.

 

1. Easy two hour fix is just throw the B16 5th gear synchro on the GSR trans - or buy a brand new one.

2. If you want the B16 gearing... almost everything will swap over. The only thing I question is the B16 countershaft final drive gear's tooth count and pitch. Off of the top of my head, it 'should' be the same in order to mate to the GSR ring gear, but don't hold me to it. And if it is the same, it's still a bit risky to mix mating pieces from two different transmissions. And like stated, it's necessary to check the mainshaft clearance when switching case/mainshaft.
