I'm not sure what Oil & water pump comes on the b20z...but on my b20b i know i need to upgrade to a GSR or ITR oil pump and water pump if u plan on high revving which seems like that's the purpose of this build.
what about the LS/CR-vtec conversion kit such as the dowel pins, oil lines etc. Gaskets? atleast plastigauge the bearing for clearance?
Plus all new gaskets, rings (if your pistons don't come with new ones), like said above new water pump and oil pump also. If your head hasn't been rebuilt already might want to consider changing seals while it's out.
You didn't say block guard. And yes I wouldn't bother with a block guard. If you are that worried about it you should get it sleeved now. Do you have a LS/Vtec conversion kit like the guy asked above? I have a brand new one I never used when planning my LS/Vtec build. If you need one let me know.

My suggestion:
B20Z short or long block
P8R head, yes, same flow as vtec head
used JR supercharger
This setup at 9 lbs would net close to 220whp and 200 ft ls tq

well the thing is, i have the b16 engine and tranny in my em1. i think the b16 engine is a good candidate for b20v bc of the short tranny and the free flowing head. i want more tq so im trying to do this build. and no i did not purchase the parts yet.
I have an EM1 as well, in this case, why not use a gsr short block??
so its a straight forward build? do i need anything else? just slap the head on the gsr block and im good to go? what kind of numbers will i expect with the gsr block?
Well that's just a shopping list, im going for the GSR block now with a b16 head.
