can i wash my car if it is primered without it being damaged?
i got a 1988 honda hatchback and it is primered and i want to know if you think it will be ok to wash?
idk if it has a clear coat?

I laughed at this thread. Because you went and did it anyways.
A lot of primer is porus, so it will hold onto water, if that primer is on top of bare metal, you might have problems down the road with rust issues, if there frequently is moisture on the car. if you wash your car in the direct sunlight and it just evaporates right away, I think you'd be fine. Some primers, (like the one Im using.) are manufactured as a primer and a sealer. If you ask the manufacturer, they will tell you if it's weather resistant or not. Washing your car with primer is fine, but if i were you I would just rinse and wipe your car. Using any kind of soap might leave residue which could cause problems in the final finish, unless you intend on sanding the finish and continuing on anyways. So, I think you should be fine, but depends on your situation.
