I found a pretty badass cd player for one of my cars, and personally I've never been a fan of Dual.. but what do you guys think? Are they of good quality? Do they produce good sound? Do they last?
Thanks!
Thanks!
My friend had a badass dual cd player in his car, but no matter how cool it looked, it sounded like ****. Plus, it skipped a lot on bumps, but that could just be a result of improper installation.

Dual? is litterally so horrible.. that i thought this post was a joke at first... but apparently you was really asking.. i honestly don't understand how they can sleep at night building stuff with such shitty quality...
I agree with most of the above, Dual is at the lower end, [bottom] of the quality scale, but then again you get what you pay for, and BTW, that's how they sleep at night.
I do not agree, "most of the stuff that's out nowadays are crap anyhow" and although Duel is not the only car audio HU that sit at to bottom of the list, there are some others that share that spot, however, Alpine and Pioneer are not one of them, I would pick an Alpine or Pioneer entry level, [bottom of the line] HU over Duals best, [top of the line] HU and still be way ahead of the game. 94

I'll have to look into some Alpine units. I just mainly want something with a big readable screen.. nothing gay, but kind of a "high-tech" looking screen?
I have a JVC KD-SH1000 in my car.
I't's not the "greatest" head unit, but I got a screaming deal on it. ($40 bnib) I'm rather impressed with it's sound quality as well as it's features. I give it 4/5 for what it is.

thats not a bad looking one!
I want a bigger, maybe "bulkier" cd player though, to fill in for a bigger bulkier stock stereo. I'm picky about cd players; I want them to look almost stock and sophisticated when I put them in.. if that makes sense...

Oh. You're probably wanting a double din, then. You're going to need a dash kit to install it in your Em2, either way.

Chry. PT Cruiser is a 1.5 din, [din and a half] so it is either a kit with a din size HU or find a 1.5 din HU, something like this...

There is also the Pioneer DEH-P47DH, CD/DVD flip up screen.
I think Audiovox also makes one, you can also get them from Boss, Jenson and Pyle although the Audiovox one is OK the last 3 are as "junky" as the Duel. 94

gotcha.
Now, what about getting a single din unit, and getting some sort of equalizer to tuck underneath it? That would look sexy, sophisticated, and the sound would be striking.
