Default 97 prelude radio not working

I just bought this from a guy who says it was only used for a week before he changed it for a sony(he bought the prelude brand new). This thing is absolutely immaculate, for a 12 year old product it sure looks like it was manufactured last week. The only problem is that when i plug it in all i get is the anti-theft light flashing red on the face. The display itself is blank and i already got the code from the dealer. I believe that there should at least be a screen that asks for the code, the dealer said to reset the ECU but that didnt work either. Is there something im missing or should i ask for my money back?

I have a 95 accord by the way and the harness fits perfectly.

if you hooked it up and it flashed, that means you have ground, and the constant 12v+, check the fuse for the acc 12v+ (radio fuse in fuse panel) and see if its blown or not. if so, replace, if not, possible hu issue.

My aftermarket cd player works fine when hooked up so i think all the fuses for the radio should be working. I'll still check that as soon as i get a chance and I'm assuming that HU means head unit.
