Do a tune up make sure everything is functional.

Check tires to see if they are good, have a spare tire in the truck.

BTW where are you traveling to?

I would go get a tune up before leaving, carry some extra quarts of coil and coolant. I would pick up a spare main relay, and ignition coil, just to be safe as all. I Took my eg hatch to washing and brought all of that, but nothing went wrong, but its better safe than sorry.

Maintenance:
Change oil and filter
Change radiator fluid
Check the battery
Check the spark plugs
Check brakes and brake fluid
Check tires and air

Take spare parts:
Dizzy
Main Relay
Quart of Oil
Coolant
Spare tire (Don't get/use a temporary tire)
Tools (especially for replacing the spare tires, it happens.)

ABOVE ALL, IF YOU KNOW A PART THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OR REPAIRED, I WOULD TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY NOW BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.

Get an alignment. I took my car from Gulfport, MS to La Mirada, Ca (Los Angeles) and i didn't have one problem. 90mph all the way there and back.

check up on things like tie rod ends and wheel bearings to make sure you have nothing that is getting close to going bad.
look over bolts and make sure nothings is loose or ne thing of that nature. mainly go over the bolts that have been tightened/loosened lately
possibly get an alignment

DEF make sure your suspension is ok, nothing ever worse than snapping a tierod or something like that going 80 on a highway. i would also get my alignment checked. whenever i go far i take 2 fullsized spares, just becuase you never know, and a toolbox with every tool you need for ef, and some spare parts. it would be nice to have a box full of spare parts of everything that goes wrong on efs...nice investment to travel ha.
