The transmission has AMAZING gears, I had never driven a short gear tranny before this one and I was very impressed. The engine and transmission are in my daily driven Civic right now but will be pulled out in the next week or so.EVERYTHING is still on the engine: intake manifold, distributor, spark wires, alternator....etc.
The Good:
The engine has been overhauled with new parts all over the place. It was stripped down to almost bare block to receive: a new cylinder hone, new piston rings and new valve seals. All 16 valves were removed, checked, and lapped. A new head gasket and timing belt were installed as well as a brand new distributor. The intake manifold gasket was also replaced. The engine makes incredible power for it's size and also get very good gas mileage even when driving aggressively once in a while.
The transmission is in great shape for it's age. It shifts into each gear very easily and I have not heard it grind once.
The Bad:
The LMA's (lost motion assemblies) in the head are starting to wear out. They are beginning to click at certain rpms. They can be replaced with a much better spring style design and will never need replacing again. That's all.
Also available (price negotiable):
- B series shift linkage
- B series mounts
- Chipped P28 (Factory B16A base map)
- Hasport mount/slave cylinder kit (for use when using a cable transmission in a hydraulic clutch car....Look up "Hasport EGBCC Kit" )
