what would be better??to find a cheap em1 shell and swap in a gsr or to find an 96 up ex with a gsr swap already in it for around 3500

I would look at the already swapped civic and see how clean the swap was done. If you're going to buy it that way I wouldn't buy something that was half-assed and beat. If it is half-assed or beat I'd just go with a shell and do the work yourself. That way you can appreciate it more afterwards.
