Ok the title pretty much explains it all. I pulled the valve cover to replace the leaking gaskets and I found a nasty surprise, a broken rocker arm. I know that the zc is basically the same as the d16a6 except for the cam. My question is where can I pick up a rocker arm that will fit this cam? Can I pick it up from napa, autozone, pepboys, etc. Thanks in advance.

 

what the fuuuuuuu????? i'd hit up the j/y, see if any other motors have rocker arms the same as that one. i don't know much about them, but i'd guess that you can use any non vtec d series rocker arm? (as long it's a single slam i'd assume). don't quote me on that tho.

 

Thank you for the advice about going to the junk yard but I was wanting a new one so that I know it wont break later on. None of the other ones show wear or stress so they are good, just that one broke. So if anyone else knows if the rocker arms are the same at the d16a6 please chime in. thanks.

 

i have never seen a broken rocker before. ive seen d series engines last up to 300k without any issue like that.
id have to say go junkyard aswell.

I went to the j/y today and to my amazement I found a SOHC ZC and I jacked two rocker arms from the eninge. Now all I need to do is find the torque seqence to take mine apart and replace it.

 

found the torque sequence just have to mess with it after the wedding. Hopefully this fixes my cel light also

 

better hope that valve isn't bent and that could be what caused the rocker arm to break. If you jumped a tooth on the timming belt that could of caused the bent valve and your check engine light to be on.

 

The check eninge light would online come on when I was going on the freeway and at the 30min mark it would come one and run like crap. If I pulled over turn the car off and left it sit for a min or two, the cel would turn off and run normal till 30 min again. The cel code was 43 Well the valve wasnt bent when I looked through the spring it looked straight. I just got it all back together about an hour ago and it runs sweet. The only reason I noticed the broken rocker arm was cuz i went to change the valve cover gasket. I had talked to people and they told me that the cel was from my feul regulater cuz i have aftermarket fuel rail and injectors.
