Clutch Disc recommendations for H22A?
Just wondering (in case something comes up and need to to take out the transmission) what is a quality street disc for an H22a with Jun Ultralight flywheel and ACT HD pressure plate? I had the ACT street disc for some time and had that replaced with a genuine Honda clutch disc. What better options can i look into? I want good, solid performance. I don't want any 4 or 6 puck discs.
Thanks,
Mark

..I'm running one in my '99 prelude currently and am very please; as well as knowing that the Exedy, like the OEM piece, is actually a NEW item and not refurbished, like the majority of the aftremarket clutches on the market; piece of mind.
Is tha clutchmasters stage 3 carbon kevlar disc capable of taking some street racing torture? I used the ACT street disc and worked pretty well. I didn't use it much and then had that one replaced with a genuine honda clutch disc. The genuine honda unit is just about ready to be thrown away. Was just wondering if anyone is using the clutchmasters stage 3. How good is that carbon kevlar?
Thanks,

So, how does the extreme pressure plate feel? Is the clutch pedal really stiff? I am running the heavy duty ACT pressure plate. Give me some details as to how it feels. Might consider this setup as an option. I have always used ACT and enjoyed it very much. I haven't used an extreme pressure plate though.

impressions after driving it for a while...it rocks.
of course, my new cv joint/driveshaft on the driverside turned out to be bad, so my car is out of commission for yet another week...

I don't understand this whole people trying to chirp gears/street racing metality.. People think their cars are fast if they can "chrip" higher gears, just means they got a beefy clutch, and eventually something will break (axle, CV, Flywheel, clutch springs)...Now, I have used a HDSS for over 2 years of street driving, and now its being used for roadracing.. I have had NO problems what so ever... It has been to over 30 track events... 100's of laps per event, 10+ shifts per lap and never has slipped or anything funny... That includes Wheel to Wheel racing where qwick shifts are a must...
Very satisfied, and you really don't need a XT plate, unless your trying to break something.. I clutch is supposed to give a little, if it doesn't, then something else is going to give and break, don't drive like morons guys..

i completely agree with chirping gears you are loosing traction, but slipping your clutch is loosing traction with your clutch and not the ground, if i had a stock clutch with my turbo it would not have lasted, i would show some dynos but i didnt get a chance until i blew the ringlands on the sock pistons. the block is at golden eagle right now getting resleeved, and fully building the bottom end so i'll be boosting 15psi, sorry but no stock clutch will hold 15psi, not tryig to argue because every person has different views on what works and what doesnt, this is just my opinion with my personal experiences.
the pressure plate just holds the extra power....its the disc that creates shock...thats why you run the XTSS...so you have the full face sprung street disc...
if you ran a xt 4 puck, then yeah, ****'s gonna be breaking
