Default Del Sol VTEC's!!

So the Del Sol Vtec's are equipped with the same motor's as the 99-00 Si's? b16a?

I test drove one and it was quick and a very fun car to drive...

yup, but the 94-95 del sol VTECs have the b16a3 while the 99-00 Sis have the b16a2 obd2 and obd 1 for the del sols.

also its known that the del sol VTEC tranny is stronger than the Si tranny. the Si had many bulletins, and grinds.

They made del sol's into 1997. Wouldnt the later ones have OBD2?

96-97 Delsol VTECs have B16A2 OBD-II motors, just like the Civic Si 99-00.
They're rare though..

Yes they are. Took me forever to find mine. Check the sig for the '97 production number of VTECs.

Only 750 1997 VTECs were made. I'm not sure on the other production numbers...

I also have a 95 vtec, but got rid of the engine. Now I wanna boost and not sure if I want to get another motor or a b16 again. Production was low and that reflects on parts for the car as well.

Only 70,000 sol's were sold in the 4 years they were sold in the U.S. I believe It was 92-97or98 in Japan. Can't remember.

What Honda couldn't use a stronger motor?

Not trying to be a jerk; I agree completely with what you said. They should've put the B18C1 in Sols, or at least had the option.

that would skrew up the acura beats honda balance.

a b18c1 in a del sol woud make it slightly faster than an integra GSR (2700 pound GSR to 2600 pound del sol) and honda would never do that

yeah, if they didn't have the b16's, the b18's would become the torqueless wonders.

ha ha very funny, not realy.

i found it fairly humorous considering that i started out with the b16 as a stock motor, til i blew it up. Now i'm using the b18c1. Definitely a step up just by the little amount of torque added in to the factor.
