Sold My GSR, What Now?
well about 6 months ago i sold my 95 GSR, it was starting to rust and needed work i could not pay for at the time.
the time has come im looking for a new car, i have around 4-5k to spend.
i love honda but was thinking about a 2g DSM.
talk me out of it, or give me a better idea please!

I'm not sure what you like exactly, but a 2G DSM would not be in my Top 10. Sure its turboed factory but reliability isn't exactly all there. Buy a cheap EJ8 and boost it. You'll have more fun that way
only reason i was leaning twards the dsm... money has been tight and it would be the most bang for my buck performance wise.
then again with my luck i would get crankwalk or something big would mess up.

Your best bet would be to get something reliable if money is tight. Then in the future when money isn't tight, you can consider something further. I'm sticking to the 96-00 Civics because there are so many cheap upgrades for those setups. You can boost on stock, build a cheap Vitara/ Eagle setup and boost, swap and boost, etc...I have a 98 Civic EX and thought long and hard about selling my Integra and working on the Civic instead. I guess if i could do it over again, i would have stuck to the Civic platform a little longer...
hmm, i found a 02 type S with a knock in the motor for 2500$ 140k miles. going to go take a look tomarrow. if the shell is in good condition i can get a local 60k type-s swap for 1500$
that's just a screaming deal. most everything else i can think of that's cool is 15-20k, like
1. s2000
2. c5 z06
3. wrx-evo {gas hogs}

Yea, I would definitely get the RSX tho... Even with a busted motor for that price...
And dont listen to the egg that suggested wasting $4000 on a K20r swap... When k24 bottom ends can be had for less than $1000..
If its just the motor you should already have a type s tranny... So keep the build a "budget" k24 setup and **** on k20r swaps all day...

That RSX does sound like a decent buy, but i would be a little hesitant to buy a car with known problems. Just plan to spend a little more on it than you think...Thats what i've done with my turbo setups. I add 15% to the total cost and set that as my budget...it tends to work out nicely
Well, if your budget is tight, you might not want to look at a DSM. Speed is cheap, sure, but you need to look at the possible maintenance cost and you might want a separate budget for repairs. Same thing goes for you buying a shell and piecing a motor together yourself. There will always be a few setbacks.

Honda family is pretty reliable and cheap to maintain plus easy to wrench on. I had a few cars from a few different lesser car companies but none treated me as good as my hondas. I'm in a 92 GS da9 5spd, she treats me lovely and i return the favor. Stick wit Honda, you wont regret it... besidse dsms are ugly cars, girls look good in them though!
Ford Festiva or is it Fiesta??
Go with an Integra again....only 96-98 4door.
