Default ls tranny on b16

since i dont have the cash to fix my b16 lsd tranny i might have to buy a cheapo ls cable tranny instead but i have a few questions, will it really hinder my drag times that bad? and will my lsd fit into the ls tranny?(factory b16 lsd) and if anyone has links to entire rebuild kit for my b16 that would help also, i think 3 of my gears are broke

im not too sure about the lsd part of the question .... but putting that tranny on a b16 is gonna make u sad unless you have some intense boost and need the long gears... the ls tranny is way to long for the low torque b16 you will most likely fall out of vtec very often deff. in third

LS transmission + B16....thats going to suck. What is wrong with your current transmission?

Yes its not the best gear ratio for a B16 but, you do what you gotta do when your strapped for cash! Depending on what you did to your B16..might be cheaper to repair it versus replacing it. Get it open and inspect it.

You dont want to do LS trans on B16.

I had an EJ1 with B16/LS trans. I could not touch a B16/B16 trans car from a stop, and you gotta take it to 9000 to THINK about staying in VTEC. I bought the LS trans cause when I did this swap a B16 hydro trans was like $900.

As a matter of fact, my car was quicker through 1st gear when it was stock D16Z6/S20. Because I raced a certain car before and after my swap.

But in the vid, you can just tell how long those gears winds out, and you can hear easily how low it falls below VTEC in 2nd:

What he said. On second thought though it would make a GREAT daily driver. Your MPG's would be fantastic.
