so today i got pulled over by the cops for "not signaling when i switched lanes". which i found odd bc i almost always do but there was no sense in argueing. anyways he proceeded to ask questions about where the car came from, how long i've had it, then asked if he could check under the hood. then it all made sense why i got pulled over. anyways i was clean obviously then they became pretty cool and just let me go. my question is i am about 2 weeks from looking to buy a stock d16 to build up and i see a ton of cheap ones on craigslist ( probably stolen) what papers should i have to prove that the motor is legit?

 

copy of title for the car it came from, along with a bill of sale for the engine, from the title owner

just ask for the vin # and you can call up the local police, or use an online service, to check if its stolen or not.

 

Get an old school camera that prints picture instantly...have the guy sign the picture and write the price down when you take the motor
