this is a technical question, im asking what other people run on their tires, so i can decide which tire i should run. also looking for pics for wheel well clearance and other fitment and look issues. its about 500% more technical than half the other posts here kthxbye

195/55-15 or 205/50-15 are the best sizes for 15x7.

Im trying to cram a nice wide tire on there for better handing on like a circle track / road course. i think 205's might be a little narrow maybe? :-\ also as far as wanting pics im looking to see how tall the actual tire is cuz i dont want to look like a monster truck, as my car is not lowered lol.

Because nobody really makes a good tire in those sizes, The "best" Tire in a larger size would be the Hankook RS-2's in a 225/45/15...but what you need to realize is that wider does not inherently mean better traction. Two of the best tires out right now are made in 195/55/15 and 205/50/15 - Those tires being the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec. and the Kumho Ecsta XS respectively. You will be hard pressed to find better performance for money than either of those two tires. I run the Dunlops personally and I can say that they are bar-none the best Street/Track tire I have ever come across.

ok makes sense.... but im not looking for the best tire in that size.... i dont want to spend more than like 65 per tire... so i was hoping getting a 65 dollar tire in a 225, would compensate instead of getting a 100 tire in 205?

Sorry, this post confused me...I thought you were looking for "the best" possible. You still don't need to spend a crazy amount of money on a tire to get performance that is second to none.

Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec:

They're going for $83 a tire right now and will work just fine on a 15x7" wheel. I'm running that exact tire in that exact size right now on a 15x8" wheel and couldn't be happier. Read the reviews and ask around. You'll be hard pressed to find a better value for money.

I haven't experienced this personally, but a tire that is "balooned out" (i.e. too wide for the wheel) will have poor turn in response. If the tire is properly fitted to the rim it will keep the sidewalls stiff. I personally put 225s on my 7 inch wheels just because I was a pizza guy and sometimes those curbs sneak up on ya, and i'd rather rub my tire on the curb than my königs.

On my 15x7's i run 205/50s and they look good. The way i see it, your options are 195/55 or 205/50s

205- 50 -15 Falken Azenis RT-615's

Those are what I am rolling on right now. I have to say that they may be my favorite tires to date. They are a little bit loud, but the grip from these things is nothing short of mind blowing. For the price I dont think you can beat them.

at almost $100 per tire its a little more than im looking to spend for low tread life tires....

im putting on coil overs , like yoursize choices, last ones i had were 195/45, Falken zeix. with the fat lip so you dont scratch tires. they were too tiny.,
