h22 head swap
I'm buying a 94 EX/LX and was wondering if I could just bolt up an H22 head or if I need to make some mods. I heard that the F and H engines are almost identical. Any response woiuld be appreciated.

well if it's an EX, no you can't, but if it's an LX you could put the EX vtec head on it...but it's expensive for the 5 hp you would gain out of this modification...

EX has 145 hp, LX/DX have 130 hp

No, the EX header is responible for a great deal of that 15 extra horsepower.

Yes a h22a head will fit on a f22 f23 h23 and all the other f and h blocks with some mods it's not worth it and you will have to rebuild it every week just go with an h22a it's the only way.
just read the other thread...
along with you not likeing the idea of closeing oil drain holes, and I agree, Welding an aluminum block requires somebody who really knows thier ****. Welding al is tricky at best. very easy to ruin the whole thing beyond repair.
