my tranny just grinds in my b16 ef hatch, it grinds in 2,3.4 gears.. goes into gear easily, i let out on the clutch and it just grinds so im guessing those gears are fried. i baught it like this so whats my options? i really dont want a used tranny because there still expencive and have miles already, the tranny is a cable tranny with factory lsd, so its not cheap. id like to rebuild it if i could find a decent price on the gears and everything i need but kits i found just have syncros/seals/bearings, and i need everything...

 

You'll most likely need:
2nd, 3rd, 4th synchros
1st/2nd synchro sleeve/hub
3rd/4th synchro sleeve/hub

Right there is an easy $550.

Unless the dogteeth on the gears themselves are beat up really, really bad, or unless the gear cones that the synchros rest on are scored up badly, you won't need the gears themselves.

i thaught the syncros helped go into gear? it goes into gear fine just once its in it grinds/car wont move in those gears..

Then yeah. You've got some work cut out for ya. You'll be tearing the whole thing apart and cleaning passages throughout the trans. As well as installing new gears.

gears don't grind when moving.

Sounds like a axle is popped out.

 

it moves in 1st, but if i put it in 2nd all it does is grind, feels like its going into gear but i let out the clutch and kkkkkkkgkgkgjhjg a hell of a grinding noise and car dont move..
