planning to tune my car soon. any shop recomendation here in the sacramento area?

I have never done a tuning. I have also thought about doing it. Ive called them before. Theyll give you a price for everything. And let you know how much itll be from the beginning.

 

I wouldn't take my car to midnight if my life depended on it...

will some engine work and dyno tune. i just picked up some itr cams with valve springs and retainers and would like to get my b16 tuned. any shop you guys recomend?

 

only shop i like in sacto is endless motoring i know they do engine work not sure about dyno... but if your willing to drive go to paris engine dynamics here in stockton Derrek will hook you up

 

I don't personally have any experience with other shops except for Midnight Performance, they do charge a lot money for services. How was the quality of the work they do? Mediocre. Level of attention to detail? Out of 10, 10 being highest - 5. But Warren was honest with me and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want. But over all I won't be a return customer unless he can offer me more for my $$$. Driving Ambition will be my shop next time I any major work done.

But back to your question about tuning. I car ran great when they tuned my "poor man Type R" engine (which they built) with a JRSC, using Hondata. Hope that helps

you work there? which tech are you? Im sure i have seen you a few times before, but like he said I would never ever take my car to midnight again..

 

Sorry I didn't work there, my friend did for a bit, and I hung around one night there when he was working on some white civic with a GSR motor.

The ninja turtle working there is warren, cause his head is the shape of a ninja turtle. =X

I personally never took my car there when back in 2001 warren wanted to charge me 1500 dollars to custom make h22a mounts into an EK.

I called them before when i wanted to tune my car.
They quoted me $971. For a hondata s300=641, oem ecu obd1 converted to v-tech $300, tunning $170, install $75. total $971.

Too much. So i havent done it.

 

holy crap, you can find a used complete s300 for 500-600, then take it DSR or redzone for like 150 tuned

 

hmm that sounds like a quote he would give...are any of them even on this site? Andre is nice, but they run a bad business, maybe my brother will tell a story about hondata and midnight....

 

i guess i will be going down to modesto to get it chrome tune at ctr dyno when i have the time

complete ripoff, did terrible work on my eg, wouldnt send my car or a part back there if my life depended on it
