i sometimes hear a rattling noise while I'm driving, somtimes when i start the car, usually at lower RPM's

well it sounds like it's coming from the front, i look under the hood and nothing looks loose

yea it sounds like metal is touching each other, could it be something internal?

 

no. jack up ur car look up and down the whole exhaust; all the heat shields are there. even by ur header...

If the rattle sounds like an empty beer can bouncing around underneath the car it is definitely a heat shield most likely the one on the cat.

I did the 'hose-clamp mod to my Civic EX'

Buy four hose clamps


open them up so you can attach them together like so


Finished product cost less then $3 and NO MORE RATTLES - FTW!!!!!

Exactly it sounds like a rattling beer can lol, thanks THEJB3 for the tip but i didn't get a chance today to look under my car but i will first thing tomorrow

Well i finally check out my car and there is no catalytic converter under the car, it's right after the exhaust manifold and the heat shield on it is not rattling... i checked everything under the car but nothing seems to be loose.

However the only thing i noticed was that i was missing one of the rubber hangers for my exhaust, could that be the problem?

 

maybe so...
