- What kind of car you have (year, model, version)
2003 Lexus IS300
- What size wheels you have
16x7 300zx/240sx OEM
stock tire size: 205/55/16 or 225/50/16
- How the tires will be used (daily driving, auto cross/track/drag strip)
Daily driving mainly, mild track use once every month or two
- What kind of weather the tires will be used in (dry, rain, snow)
Hot and dry mainly, rain/snow in the winter
- What your preferences is in the trade-off between value (low purchase price and/or long tread life) vs performance
prefer low purchase price with long tread life, but decent performance
So I currently have 205/45/16 Kumho spt's up front and 205/50/16 Federal 595's out back. The setup grips well enough for me out on the track (high 1:30's to low 1:40's, Spec Miata's on ra1's do mid to low 1:30's), but the tires overheat within a few minutes of hard driving.
The car is mainly a daily driver, so that's the first thing that needs to be addressed. I'll also be driving across state lines fairly often, so they need to be quiet and be able to handle rain and some snow.
I'm interested in 225/50/16's or 245/50/16's. Thanks!

This isn't the place for information about wheels and tires for your grandmother's Buick or your son's Mustang; there are other websites that specialize in those cars, where people will have more specific expertise with those cars than here.
