Default Oil Pan gasket replacement technique

Okay so everybody has a different way of replacing the oil pan gasket, and how they apply RTV silicone, and if they even apply any at all. A 6 year honda tech from HT suggested spraying Hi tach gasket sealant on the oil pan and placing the gasket on the pan, then applying Honda bond to the sides and corner of the upper side of the gasket.

I was wondering what were your guys technique when replacing the oil pan gasket? what would you guys use to seal the gasket, and how do you apply it?

Does my RTV gasket maker work good for this job?

I buy PermaDry gaskets from FelPro, they do not require RTV and none of my gaskets have ever leaked on me.

If it is a PermaDry then no. I have never seen a PermaDry require RTV. That is also somewhat why they are named that. They are reusable and do NOT require RTV.

I'm sorry I don't mean to question you, or challenge your answer. I just want to make sure I do it right the first time so it can be my last time. But do you have any proof or facts that permadry doesn't require any RTV or Honda bond at all?

thanks for the feedback so far.

Fel-Pro PermaDryPlus gaskets do not require any adhesives and can be reused.

All I know the PermaDryPlus don't need anything. Make sure you just get a permadryplus and you're good.
