check ur iac valve. (idle air control) take it out and clean it out.

Coolant level could be low. Start there. Then try the iacv.

if not, look for vacuum leaks. maybe one of the hoses came loose. that happened to be and the idle just bounced up from 1.5k -2k.

thanks for all the info ya i was thinkin about checkin the iac valve but also sometimes when im in neutral the car will just rev on its own. from like 2k then drop to 1 then up again for a second. will all this solve it? i just put in some coolant when i got my oil change last month so i dont think its the coolant level. thanks for all the help yo!

Well considering you changed your timing belt and stuff... I would think it would be vacuum leak, or your timing is off

if ur car is revving high at idle its ur iac valve. if ur timing was off it would misfire. or idle rough.

Its absolutely not timing... have you tried changing the TPS switch?

troubleshoot this first. make sure you're not a tooth off on the belt. check the marks at TDC. verify ignition timing is right with the jumper attached. personally i think one of these two will do it. the other stuff guys mentioned...eh, maybe but it's odd to come on right after the change. do make sure you're not a tooth off. not hard to do if you don't do the factory change exact

u have holes in cam caps/rails to align cams. take a drill bit that fits in the whole tight and secure both cams in place so they wouldnt move. then slip the timing belt on making sure that its nice and tight. vtec head has them close to the middle and non vtec right by cam gears

i hope u know how to adjust belt tension :?

also make sure u have enough coolant in ur rad, if u have air bubbles it will rev high. i wouldnt worry about IACV since it was fine before u messed with the car. also check for leaks
