I have a 92 B18A in my 89 dx HB and I love the torque it has. I would go for it if you can. Since you have a HF and all the swap will be super easy. Not mods to the harness and it will be perfect to pull that light *** HF around. The only thing that has to be done is either cutting a hole or beating the side rail in for the alternator pulley to clear. And I had to notch my rear cross member. I am using HCP mounts and adjustable shift linakge. I like the way it works for me.
One guy from another board ran a 14.8 or so with the same swap.
Mines is boosted, love it hands down. I can't wait sometimes to get off of work just to drive.
I swapped engines alone for the first time, took me about 12 hours, 99.9% myself. .1% my friend using his foot to cram the motor in.
I have HCP also,

yup, all you need will be the mounts & linkage and obd0 electronics..meaning injectors, dizzy, possibly alternator (not sure)..hubs for your hf, not too difficult. you might need to adjust your hood a little too.
any timeslips with the ls swap?

I have a 92 B18A in my SI, its running on a 90-91 ECU though(not sure if that changes much)I also have a J1 tranny and Stage 3 clutchspecialties clutch. I ran it on the track only 2 times...
1)15.3@90mph w/ 2.2 60ft
2)15.1@90mph w/ 2.4 60ft

I would get a 92-93 B18A, you have to use the 90-91 ECU, Dizzy, and Injectors though. But the 92-93 is a newer motor and is more likely to have less miles on it and the tranny.
Civic95,
That is a pretty impressive time slip. Not much done to your CRX and you took off a little weight and your hitting 13's already. You could probably hit low 13's with some head work and a header.

i just got a complete 92 ls swap PM if your intrested...im in ny...not sure as far as milage or mods yet since i have yet to pick it up...i'll try and find out later today.
I did an LS swap on my 1988 STD HB. And I used the better 142HP 1994-1995 motor (using 1994-1995 electronics to get the most from the motor. Not 1990-1991 electronics). And I found that motor horribly disappointing. It was nowhere near as fast as my B16A CRX. Eight months later, I ripped that motor out and got a B20. And the only reason why I waited eight months was because I had to save up the cash for the B20. And I can honestly say the B20 is MUCH better. So you know how I feel about the LS motor. If you can afford it, go B20.
Regardless, if you are steadfast about the B18A/B18B, just remember one thing. If you are using a 1992 motor, use 1992 electronics. They are MUCH better than the 1990-1991 electronics that people use for no reason other than simplifying wiring. The wiring conversion is not at all hard. And you will not have to buy 1990-1991 electronics and try to sell your 1992 stuff at a loss. Why lose money just to get inferior parts?
