Tire Size
I hope you aren't too concerned about your gas mileage. More rubber = more friction = less gas mileage
Don't know about going that big on these wheels, may be pushing it.

Tire rack say that for a 7" wide wheel, which is what we have, 225 is the widest that will fit.
I have the Accord hfp 19"X8" with a 55mm offset with 245/30/19 and everyone says they look sweet. Don't listen to people who tell you that anything larger than 17 or 18's look dumb. And before you say it's too big, it's the same overall diameter at the Hfp 18's that are an oem upgrade at 24.8"
Fuel economy may suffer a bit but think of this. If you have a larger overall diameter tire versus stock and you were on the highway your rpm's would be lower at a given speed in turn increasing your fuel economy. But if you were doing a lot of city driving the heavier wheel and tire would make your motor work harder to get it spinning

I am certain on this. Like i-VTEC_DOHC, I have 225 on my stock 17's and the sidewall is straight up and down with the face of the wheel. You definitely do not want to go any wider than this. 235 tires will extend wider than the width of the wheel (on stock 17x7) which will cause the tread area to bulge out. This will lead to problems with the tires.
Perfect guys. Thanks for the info. So 225/45 or 225/40. I know the 40 will be 1.3 mph too fast and the 45 will be 0.9 mph too slow.
Maybe just quit trying to be different and stay stock? :-(

I am using 225/45/17 tires right now and I have not noticed any problems. I would recommend this size over the stock size.
