my gd5 vibrates when i try to peal out, why?
is this something that happens to all accords? ive had 2 accords; 97 auto and 94 standard, when i try to peal out or race my car vibrates and jumps for a couple seconds then it slowly takes off. i have a full after market exhaust, headers, and intake on my 94. what am i doing wrong? i cant peal out. oh n i have 18" rims if that helps. thanks peeps, any replys will help.
Try checking your egr (refer to FAQ for instructions). It always freakin' does that.
Check it out since it is day light for you and come back to us with results/ how it went.
Btw, rims doesn't matter (duhhh) check your intake, check your TB, check if your downpipe is bent or crushed.

im kinda new to these blogs and most auto parts so i gotta ask, whats egr? i was just putting the size of rims for weight purposes. i checked my exhaust pipe and its all straight, i think its like a 2 inch pipe and custom dual magnaflow exhaust. my intake is also good.
If you car bogs it aint your rims. But if you're automatic and you floored it, the car jerks and have a slight pause before down shift, it is normal it's an AUTO...egr - exhaust gas recirculation...it bogs your car if it had enough carbon deposit.

Anyway now........
Sounds to me like "axle hop".. Like seriously... If your car is not running right just sitting there and/or under "normal" driving circumstances then you might have EGR problems. But I have no clue why he would just say "check your EGR". And thats also why he didnt tell you what it was in the first place... IE cause he had no clue..
To sum it up. Your accord was not made to "peal out" all day long up an down the road like you just won the Daytona 500.
Your transmition is going to crap out on you, and soon with you driving it that way with those big dumb wheels.
You might want to look into a "traction bar", will greatly improve axle hop. Some say it totally eliminates it but, I still feel signs of axle hop every so often. What is your suspension setup? Any chassis reinforcement? Engine Dampers?
LMK
it sounds to me like wheel hop. you're going to break axles if you keep doing it. traction bars will help, but you shouldn't even bother because they're expensive and you're not making enough power to make use of one. if you're trying to launch during a race, just slip the clutch enough to chirp the wheels and go.

well im not planning on doing that all day, i just sumtimes get that tic to smoke my tires or just to sho off, i just want to b able to do it once in a while and know that i can. well the axle hop sounds closer to what is going on. suspension: right now on my 94 5-speed accord i have air bags so i know gains weight and maybe lose power because of it. but to weigh it out, i have a front stabilizer bar, dual exhaust, intake, and aftermarket clutch.
You have a whopping 140 horse power and no-LSD. It's not going to happen. And if for whatever reason it does and you're lucky you will be peg-legging it and look like a tool.
You probably have shitty cheap *** tires as well.
