i have a set of clean,non curbed hx's, with almost brand new good year tires. The wheels were stripped of there paint and then cleared,but i used a chemical that was too strong and it kind of messed up the clear. They just need to be cleared again.. all you need is a can of clear.. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg..
