I know 6 bucks wasn't that much, but its the principle. I had over 600 posts there as 98 San Marino SH, and I'm looking forward to sharing usefull information with you guys.

Yeah i started looking at PO.com after HP.com went offline. and i cant say i was impressed at all. i didnt like the layout and most of the moderators (not all, but most) were dicks. And then when they were becoming a paysite they said if you dont pay you can still read the threads but not post, yeah right, that turned out to be total BS. Luckily, i found this site and everyone has that same old communal feeling, which i felt PO.com lacked.

I'm a shellshocked member of the former HP.com... Been a member since June '99, and very sad to see it go.

I donated a helluva a lot more than $6 over the years to HP to no avail...

Oh well, hopefully Chris can get the nMotion sites up in a few months or so.

 

Hey what's up, welcome to the board. I know what you mean about PO.com. I was on there also, but now that you have to pay $6, its just dumb I'll just stick to this page now

 

I was on PO.com for wuite a while, but why pay for something you can get for free somewhere else, kinda like prostitutes, right? But anyways, cool to see more prelude guys

 

We may find there are a lot of 'refugees' who just want to get the info for free. I do too, but I think we should recognize that at some point poeple are going to need help supporting the boards. Chris asked over and over for donations, so we can see that asking for donations doesn't necessarily work.

I think we should have a wide open discussion and/or poll to decide how we can help to prevent h-t from following the same path.

 

don't get me wrong, its not that i'm looking for a free ride.......

its just, being canadian, we don't have paypal....and its just too much hassle to send a cheque for 6 bucks just so I can hang out on an internet board

 

I find it rather disturbing that you look at it that way. Not everybody is looking just to get information, many people like myself are looking to share their experience. The way I look at it is, why would I want to pay to help other people out? Is the fact that I am offering some sort of knowledge to the board not enough?
