CRX/EF/Civic Sidemarkers/Tail lights
Can they be swapped I know there is a switch between the 88/89 to 90/91 but besides that are they interchangeable or what?

 

crx and ef civic sidemarkers are the same.

tail lights from 88-89 crx are interchangable with tail lights from 90-91 crx only.
same with ef civics only.

cant put crx tail lights on ef civics.

they have a different angle and size i believe.

 

yup! besides crx tailights are a lot sexier than civic lights

and 88-89 side markers will not fit a 90-91 civic i tried it

 

i hope your talking about the actual jdm side markers and not the corner lights.

I'm talking about the corner lights IE driving/parking lights and side lights that light up when you turn on your turnsignal. in 88/89 the had outside screw holes in 90/91 they changed and the screws were hidden.

ive always called sidemarkers as the ones that mount on the fender between the door and the wheel well and corner lights as the lights next to the headlights.

They can be interchanged...but it will look really crappy and not fit correctly. My buddy bought a 90 sedan and it had one 88/89 corner for some reason. It was just chilling there, not even screwed in at all. They mount up differently, as you mentioned yourself.

 

in order to use the 90-91 corner lamps on a 88-89 you must swap the head light brackets and fender clips i saw a thread about it over on another forum once before

 

I have 90 CRX tails on my 89. Had to swap the plugs and wires from the 89 to the 90 but it worked without a drop of sweat.

 

Also crx corner lights are NOT interchangeable with civic corner lights. They have a different shape to them.
