When I was replacing my alternator yesterday, I happened to break one of the bolts to mount the M/C onto brake booster. So now, I have to replace that. My question is, could I use a bigger brake booster from a 94 EG ex on my CRX (88 Si)? If so, would it provide any benefit over the OEM booster (i.e. better braking power)? Would I have to use the EG M/C as well? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

 

Yes, the booster will bolt up to the firewall.

not sure about eg master cylinder and brake booster, but i have an 01 gsr master cylinder and brake booster on my 88 crx si.

the mods i needed to do, to put it on, was that i had to bend one of the hard lines to the other side of the master cylinder and use a bigger 'connecting bolt'.



since the master cylinder is bigger, theres more fluid that goes through. meaning less travel on the brake pedal with a mean stopping power.


also did a rear disk conversion from a da gsr with the 40/40 prop valve when i swapped m/c.

 

can you use the M/C without swapping out the booster?

i think only the dc ones require both the master cylinder and brake booster together.

 

i'm currently asking a similar question on clubcivic. so i'm assuming this will work on my 91 civic si? the booster and MC are from 94 automatic civic hatch.

 

I doubt EG will give you performance gain. It may but bigger doesn't always increase line pressure which translates to pedal feel.

You can you Integra 260v Booster and MC (non abs)
Integra 290v Booster and MC (ABS) may have to change rear MC fitting
Any Civic booster/MC but they must compliment each other. YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT USE ABS MC WITH NON ABS BOOSTER OR VISE VERSA.

 

oh i'm not looking for more stopping power, i just want something that fits right now. the sale includes the MC as well. and from what i can seen in the pic he's also throwing in the brake pedal! anyway, i just need to know if i can use the eg brake booster and/or MC on my ef.
