Default Cometic or ebay head gasket?

Im building engine to "customer" and he has 2 headgaskets. Ebay full set and cometic. If car would be my own id take OEM but this is now options. Its b16 with eagle crank, rods and SPR pistons or something. I have read so much problems with cometic so should i go with ebay gasket? Deck and head is going to milled so they are straight.

If options are these what is YOUR choise? If cometic is there any needs for that like copper spray?

OEM even if you have a 83mm piston for example? how would that work since the stock bore is 81 for a gsr at least?

Golden eagle head gasket works awesome too. They also have diff bore sizes, but in your case i would take the cometic over the ebay, But oem ftw

Tell that to your pistons when they are sticking out of the hole...

sarcasm or lack of knowledge? stock oem gasket works fine with 81.50 bores. ask around.

Yes i have my d16 engine with 75.5mm bore, and have used 75mm and 76mm gaskets. Works fine. I dont know what kind of engine u got but if your pistons is coming out of block, i hope u have space there so it doest hit head lol

you forgot to mention what brand gasket is being sold on ebay.

a "ebay" head gasket makes no sense......ebay does not manufacture gaskets. the seller is selling a product on ebay. that product is made by someone.

qft, last time i measured and OEM gasket it was actually 81.5mm, Honda does this to leave room for rebuilds etc and that way they don't have to make another HG for oversize etc... However OEM, Cometic, GE, all are good, i have used all with great success on cars from 250-630whp.

Sarcasm... Hence the :p

Either way when building motors .019" can more than make or break a motor... Ask around... :p

Also I sometimes forget to look which forum I am at and see it is the FI and not the N/A so I would hope you would not have to worry about some of the piston coming above the deck...

As blinx said above, he recalls that when he measured an oem gasket, it was 81.50. I even tested my new 81.50 je slugs and they fit through an oem gasket.
