Default ls with type r pistons and 404's

hey guys i just have a few questions i have a ls bottom end with type r pistons i just baught a ported and polished head with crower springs and retainers and crower 404's.

i was just wondering is there any piston to valve clearence i need to watch out for or can i just put that head and be fine with no worries?

sorry if this has already been asked i have not been able to make it to the compter for a while and probably cant get back on tell the middle of next week! please bump the post if ya look thanks guys

look into "claying" a motor.
then clay the motor and be 100% certain of what will happen when you run this thing.

like above if i ever wonderd i'd deff clay it to make sure, I belive that is the right way to build something then to just "wonder" if your piston will smack your valves. Head gasket could make a huge difference in alot of ways i think. when you get it tuned let me know what it makes i always like non vtec builds

there are plenty of guys running p30's with 404's which are higher comp then type r's (unless you are talking about ctr's)

I put the same setup together, except using PCT pistons.. I had to go with a .051 cometic HG to put the compression down into pump gas territory.

Only way i'd figure for that setup to be slow is a compression loss. That and if it was tuned or not. And what transmission, clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate you are using.

Deffinatly need a tune..

had a LS with JDM ITR, 82mm, BC II's, dc header, hks exhaust made 164 sae on a DJ, picked up over 30 hp with cams and pistons alone!

what tranny are you using? if you didnt get a tune, it should have been the first thing to do.

hey sorry just a street tune waitin for dyno. but its still ls tranz so i know that is a huge deal....but stock flywheel waitin on a r flywheel... what kinda cam degree youguys running? just wondering i know you ant really see if much changes for the good with out the dyno... but i was just wondering i will trade my set up for a gsr or maybe b16 wit goodies
