I see that you do not run an open-element filter (like AEM/Injen). Is there a reason for this? Is it b/c of the off-idle throttle response? If so, do you have any dyno-tests to prove the difference between the 2?

Curious,

David

I had an AEM intake, and there are few reasons why I reverted to a closed air box: 1). the aem intake fit poorly, and it rubbed against the inside of my engine bay; really bothered me, 2). I did feel a lag, subjective, in throttle response, but did notice top-end gains, 3). for all intents and purposes I did not notice a "loss" in performance going back to a closed air box w/ k&n filter, I wish I had the dyno data to be sure, but I don't. Also, the k&n filter is $45 v. the aem system $190+, so it made more sense to remove the intake resonator and run a k&n than to spend 4 times that only to get, what I felt, was comprable perfomance.
