Koni yellow, AGX, or tokico illuminas'

what does everyone have and what are the best for a EF setup?

i like how the KYB's have those little adjustment ***** below. but i see tokico's have those on the top and are much easier to adjust.

KYB= sucks...

tokico and koni are great.. koni can handle a higher spring rate than tokico's, though..

 

im sure this has been asked several times, but its a good question! I'm in the process of buying my new suspension setup and I would like to know whats the best/price to get.

 

I got koni yellows and i love them. just make sure you get yellow so you can adjust without pulling the shocks off.

 

i got the agx's with H&R race springs
very happy with them

but if you have the money then i say koni yellows

 

i gotta set of kyb agx with a set of eibach sport lines the ride is a little stiff cus of the springs but they are GREAT struts tokico have been reviewed with hading alot of wheel hop and evernbody i know that has them say the ride sucks. ive only heard good things about the koni yellows dont know much about them tho but if ur on a budget the kybs are a great investment .

 

i'm yet to hear of an unhappy koni yellow owner. i'm proud to say i have them on both my honda's (yes, even the beater has koni's)

I have an AGX with Skunk2 setup, and I am more than happy with it.

i have an 88 and want a set of yellows should i just get the rear for teh ITR?

 

if you want external adjustability, you will have to ditch the 88 rear LCAs if you want to go with konis. otherwise the adjustability is internal and the shock piston needs to be compressed and turn to adjust the stiffness/softness of the shock.

 

yeh i found this out a lil bit ago from macky he has them he says that there is a european version that is externally adjustable

 

yeah, he has my old rear suspension (sans the springs) setup.

 

im gonna see about the european konis maybe i can get a set for my rear

 

Koni=the best
KYB=good bang for buck, good shocks
Tokico=more Money, for less shock(in my opinion)

yeah, i have the illuminas and they blow. I mean they are ok, but definitely not for the money! GO with the yellows. Might even be a little cheaper.

 

well my friend in the neatherlands is gonna check on them monday i gave him the part # and all his buddies have them on their ee9s

 

Two blown AGX's here. That is with a conservative 1.5" drop. They can't handle the higher spring rates (400+) when used for autocrossing. They were fine until I started to race this season, then they went on me. They lasted about 1.5 years though. I wouldn't consider them if you are running higher than 300lb spring rates.
