head gasket
Check this out u guys..... I've had an overheating problem with my ls for the longest, I replaced everything in cooling with honda oem parts, and car still overheated...ne ways took it to a shop and they told me head gasket and were gonna charge me 550 to do it. So I said no and I would do it myself. I know how to do it u noe.........so I pulled head off and head gasket was perfect! No cracks, flakes or wear.....but ne ways I'm replacing but when I looked on the block walls I had build up of dirt/mud...it was a significant amount. Could that have caused a blockage? I noe where it came from, I didn't have an intake or filther for about a month and I constantly drove to cali/nevada stateline and back to vegas ( a lot of dirt in air due to dessert)
A blown headgasket that was letting the coolant and combustion chamber mix could have allowed that dirt to get into the coolant and gum it up. Don't forget to get the head decked and have the block checked as well because a warped surface will only keep blowing gaskets.
