I found a 89 civic ef with no rust at all and the body looks like its in pretty decent shape. But the motor has 208xxx miles on it. If I ended up buying this car could I just replace the gasket and change oil ect and have it run ok or will I need to do more?

 

I have a 90 hatchback with 217k miles and its still runing strong. The only thing i would recommend is getting a tune-up. Caps, Rotors, Plugs, Wires, Oil change Ect. Ect Ect.

 

my 90 ef has 213k on it. just did a tune up and it runs fine.

mine has the original d15b2 with 285,000 with a recent head gasket, and timing belt replacement and it runs great. Just do a tune up

oil pan
dizzy o-ring
rear main seal
plugs
wires(if needed)
cap
rotor
timing belt,tensioner,water pump
...if it aint burning oil u should be golden with all that i and everyone else mentioned
