I have Camshafts with their cam gears still intact, but the camshafts are out of the head. How do I take the gears off the camshafts?

I just ended up doing something like this with the cams in the car though.

I had one of those cheapy strap wrenches that has a rubber strap that loop in a circle. I wrapped it around the cam gear and braced it while I took off the bolt holding on the gears. Give that a try.

 

impact gun works as well.

 

thats the only way i have ever been able to do it.
