Default Which site is most reputable to purchase honda motors??

I've heard a lot of good things about hmotorsonline. What do you guys have to say about them? And are there any other sites that are complete with them that you guys may know of?

The problem with Hmotors and J-spec is that they have mostly JDM engines and precious few USDM engines. In CA, we can't get these BAR'd in our cars anymore, so I'm interested in knowing which other sources for USDM engines are reputable.

As of April, the REF won't BAR a JDM engine in a car unless it originally came with the US equivalent of that engine. That is, you can BAR a JDM D16 series engine in an EG hatch, but you can't BAR a B18C in an EG hatch. There's been talk about this on the board for the past couple of months. I was considering a JDM engine swap and going through the hassle of adding all of the emissions stuff, but now that the REF won't BAR a JDM B18C swap into an EG, it's a deal killer. Check craigslist in the SF Bay area and you'll see a load of people trying to unload their unBARable JDM engines. :/

Im so confused. Does this mean I wont be able to put a JDM GSR in my 96 EK? My friend JUST put a GSR in his 95 Integra, is he screwed? We both live in SoCal.

you can not bar a jdm gsr, he however can if it is a direct replacement for his original motor. meaning if his o-g motor was a b18c1 and he swapped in a b18c he could get it legit.. however i doubt this is the case (he might be able to get it BAR'd still if he didnt originally have a b18c1 but im not positive about this.)

you can not swap in a jdm motor in your hatch legitly now unless it is a direct replacement of your original motor, so a d15 or whatever would be the jdm version of the d16y7.

my suggestion.. buy a jdm gsr, buy a usdm gsr block.. good to go. or look for a usdm motor.

Man, I can only imagine the hell some people may go through with having to deal with the whole 'bar' thing out in cali, or in some other states...... But I guess I kind of luck out, seeing how I live in Kansas lol.

The only thing I don't like about hmotors, and J-spec, is that the warrenties are minimal... But I think I can live with it, especially if everyone has had nothing but good things come from hmotors. And it sure as hell beats paying 2,700 for a USDM B16A with 129,000 miles from honda hahaha. But I have another question...

If you can't tell by the name, I drive a 99 si. Anyways, Would a B16a SiRII Bolt right up to my existing components? Such as transmission, motor mounts, ect? And it should still be compatable with my original ECU, right?
