cutting itr muffler (canister part) to fit eg6. will it ruin the muffler?
ok i got a 1993 civic hatchback and want to put a itr muffler in but it seems like the canister is a lil too long. i will need to weld it to my 2.25 piping and already modded the tip by cutting it a lil to shorten it. do you guys thing that it would ruin the itr muffler if i was the cut like 2.5-3.5 inches of the canister part off and weld the canister back together would ruin the muffler (making it loud)??? i want to do this cuz if i was to weld the muffler in right now it would be sticking out too much and would be rubbing on my rear sway bar.
here is a pic of what i want to do to the itr muffler.

the muffler is already cut its not the whole axle buck it's just the muffler. with the muffler pushed all the way back and leaving very little space before the canister touches my rear sway or lca and the tip of the muffler, it still sticks out like 2 inches.
sorry but i do not want a 3a muffler!!! if you got nothing nice to say gtfo of my tread. i have a magnaflow right now and want something stock that is high flowing and itr muffler was my choice.
well looks like it was a bad choice now.huhh.
dont cut i. 1. if you need to ask about cutting a muffler , you probably should just stop now. 2. your going to ruin the living jesus out of it, and hate your self

you cant take a 'high flow' muffler and cut it up and then add a restriction to it.

lets have a experiment? cut the muffler horizontal and see whats inside then you tell us if the muffler still would have worked. because if you think you can cut a muffler and just weld if back together without any consequences then you have no idea whats inside. :poop:
here is a s2000 muffler cut out. i guess i wont be cutting my muffer after all it is crazy what it looks inside!!!
