Stumbling idle issue...
So after warming the engine and driving for a lil while, I notice my idle sometimes slowly drops at a stop, then it picks itself back up a lil, and sometimes I get a sort of misfire.
Basically it tends to stumble around 500 - 900 rpm.
The car never died yet, but gets pretty close then I have to give it some gas.
I've replaced or cleaned and checked everything.
- replaced IACV
- New plugs, rotor, cap, wires
- cleaned intake and throttle body
- check for vacuum leaks
- adjusted ignition timing
- cleaned K&N air filter
- 1 year old fuel filter
- 5 month old 02 sensor,and Magnaflow catalytic converter.
- car burns no oil and runs clean
A few things I did not check or replace are the Coolant temp sensor, and Throttle position sensor.
Lastly, I was told by my mechanic that the final thing that can cause this problem is caused by low compression in the engine, possibly leaky or burnt valves.
I did a compression test and Im getting 145 145 150 150 PSI. He said normal is around 185 PSI for a d16a6
Any ideas ? Should I be checking other things ? Bad ground ?? Alternator ? Battery ?
Btw, motor has 244,000 kms.

Just got back from the shop.
Replaced faulty bosch 02 sensor with new NTK unit ($80 bucks)
Relocated 02 sensor to header runner instead of downpipe.
Problem solved !!! Idles perfect and runs awesome, needle doesnt even move at idle.
Obd0 motors run a single wire unit. If the 02 sensor line was cut and soldered, sometimes this can cause an 02 sensor to not read properly. Also recommend to not run a bosch 02 sensor. Use either NTK or Denso !
thanks guys for your info and thanks to google.com for the info as well
