Honestly, the only reason I'd buy a cobalt is because I know the motor is diesel and they don't look all that bad flying by you at the stripe
It's needed for them right no, no doubt. But it's great for them, if Toyota gets in there as well as others it could be the final game over lol
It will be sad to see some teams get affected though, hopefully wind energy can pick up their sponsorships or something.

Doesn't Really surprise me with Bankruptcy of GM, What does surprise me is that it took so long for this to happen. Reason being that the government now owns something like 40% of GM after the ( Bail out loans) it funded for GM, GM responded by backing the loans with shares in the company ( A lot of shares). So now General Motors is more like Government Motors. With the current Legislation we have GM will be forced to make little eco friendly, hybrid cars. Not necessarily a bad thing but I am afraid to say that the Corvette, camaro, and the conventional V8 are soon to follow.

the only problem with that, is i have never seen a cobalt out racing that wasnt sponsored by GM. i have had ONE cobalt here, ever. i hope the market for them is better other places than here locally.

Recently, I saw an add for a refreshed Top Sportsman engine, basically a slightly tuned down version of a Pro Stock engine, from what I understand. I believe they wanted $60k for that one.
They have either NHRA Pro Stock that uses the smaller super expensive engine or you have the IHRA Pro Stock or the mountain motor class and they use the big 800ci+ engines that are super expensive.

If Toyota can do NASCAR, then I think they can do pro stock. It would be nice to see an import body using an import powerplant. Maybe one day they will let the use of fuel injection in.

Toyota, better start some R&D if they want to run Pro Stock. It is a super hard class to enter in and try to do something. Probably, the toughest class out there, and the most expensive right off the bat.
wasnt that much of a suprise with the economy and the bankruptcy. first the sport compact program (drag and drifting) was scaled back or shut down now this. if you remember the johnsons almost didnt race this season because they rely primarily on the GM/ac delco sponsorship. nascar will probably be next. ive been seeing articles where they have been concerned about it since talks of the bailouts started.
