Thinking about buying a crx si but got some problems...
the car is a 91 crx si and it has a zc swap in it...
The car has a short somewhere in the engine harness so the seller says his battery will die out and his ecu will burn out eventually every good while that he has driven it, he says the alternator is good so what could this be?
he is throwing in another engine harness as well the car has a lost title and has a WW body kit doesnt look bad at all...

the trick involves using a test light, i work on car audio as my job and this is how its done to trace. disconnect the negative take the test light hook one end up to the - battery terminal and the other end to the - terminal wire. with a draw the light will come on. then you pull the fuses one by one and it will help you find out what circuit the draw is in. hope it helps
Don't waste your time with a test light. That is how a monkey would fix something; use a multi-meter so you can see if there is voltage and whether or not it is positive or negative voltage. As far as the missing title, check your states laws to see if it even requires a title.
This should be your main concern. Unless the car is track only, you should demand to get a title at the point of sale. Otherwise you are depending on the goodness of the seller's heart to do the work to get a new title AFTER the sale. Let's be honest. Most people won't be very dilligent in putting in the work for someone else.
Use your head and be careful, bro.

Not saying that's how he should go about it but its not that big of a deal. I buy a few cars a year with no title and get a bonded one.

I don't know how it is in your state but down here in Texas you can get a bonded title for the same price as a regular title transfer.....

I purchased a crx a couple months ago but did not realize the title had already been dated a year and a half ago. When I went to transfer the title I found the penalty for being late would be over $300. I'd really like to get to title in my name for less than 500.
as long as theres not a lean against the title your good to go.. looks like a great buy Get rid of all the ZC wiring and grab you a 96 + civic ex harness u can modify if you like messing with electrical or pick one up from already made By Rywire.com
How do you go about doing this? I thought you had to get a surety bond which costs a percentage of the value of the car.

I'm trying to get around this myself. Good info to follow though.
Good luck to the both of us.
