how fast are b16 crx's?
they are suppose to run anywhere from 14.5-15.0 on a stock motor...
...but i was at CMI in sacramento earlier this month and was dissapointed to see MANY efs with b-swaps running mid to low 15s...
but then it was a very hot weekend

well in low altitude theyll run around a mid 14. id liek to say something. to everyone that gets mad at people for not searching and asking the same questions why get soo damn mad. i dont understand it. so once every question has been asked once well have nothin to talk about. jesus this is a forum isnt it god damn.
I ran 14.8 at 94MPH with my 1988 B16A CRX DX. Keep in mind that ETs are a very tricky thing. Raw power is not as important as you think. For instance, alot of ZC people like to bash the B16A, saying that they run 14's with their motors (while most B16As run low 15's). But you must keep in mind that if YOU are running low 15's in YOUR car with a B16A, you would probably run around 16.0 with a ZC. In this case, it is all about suspension setup, tire/wheel setup, and launching skills. I, for instance, was running low 15's for the longest time before I went to 205's and refined my launching skills.

i ran 15.2 at sac on a really cold day....it started to drizzle too.....slow 60' (2.3-2.5)...crappy happy tires....if i had some drag radials....mid 14s wouldnt have been a problem

enjoyably fast, I love mine. intake only, stock header, gutted cat, stock exhaust. Quick, beats I/H/E 4cylinders all the time. Matches speed with v8's until around 60mph, then it just doesnt have the top end.
I still want faster though so i think i'm gona go all out and get a GSR motor/trans next year, i want the freeway speed and gearing.

hehe then you can come over and help me put mine in!
how does a b16 equipped crx or hatch compare with an ls or gsr swap? assuming stock internals and "normal" bolt ons? i was actually plannin on a high compression ls swap with some 404's and laughin gas until i started reading about the reliability and rod stroke ratio's of the b16..... now i'm in a bind and not sure what to do.

GSR
B16a
LS
It's a toss-up between the B16a and the LS...because the LS (In my opinion) has greater potential for power if you sink money into it. All motors are very reliable.
thanks for the help. i'm more into the drag scene (hence the not-so-streetable integra). i'm just thinkin of building a mean street car from my beater.

ok, how about this... i'm sick of all the is this faster than this but what the hell, it's 5:30 and i've been up for 28 hours, i don't have to make sense right now.
hatch with b18c vs hatch with b20z
both cars having "normal" bolt ons, stock internals
both cars equipped with gsr tranny, clutch, and flywheel
both cars equally "stripped"
what do you guys think?
