Default My amp i just bought

I just bought a older rf p501s and there are two gain levels one for left and one for right? So i bridged my amp since i have one subwoofer but when i adjust the gain do i have to have them both exactly the same or just turn on down and leave one up? I never had a left and right gain ****

hmm.. first of all i must note i kinda laughed that you called a p501s an older amp.. because to me everything after the a2 series amps was new stuff.. but i guess it kinda is getting old now.

anyways.. from what i remember off the top of my head, the p501s amp also came in a 4ch and the only difference in the model number was the last alphabet in the model, say they had a p501s and a p501p or whatever, i remember once letter stood for 2ch and one stood for 4 ch that year, or something along those lines.. i never owned an amp from that generation, but i have installed quite a few of them and i'm sorry but i just don't remember a 2ch amp having 2 gains.. i know for sure the 4ch amps did. i did a quick google search on that amp and did not bring up anything useful quickly, and i even resorted to ampguts and didn't see it on there either. i would think that there would be a 2 position slider on the side that allows you to change from stereo/mono mode and that the left gain would be used as the gain, but thats theoretical and probably not gonna be true. can you, just for kicks take a picture of the side of the amp and post it?

The R/F Punch 501S is a 2003 model 2ch amp, 2x125W RMS into 4 ohms and 1x500W RMS into 4 ohms when bridged @14.4V, although the 1x500W is probably a "fudged" number.

Both gains must be set exactly the same in both 2ch and bridged modes, not one of R/F better ideas, but the amp is a pretty good one, made before R/F took a crap. 94
