Default What causes Burnt Valves

I'm just curious.. friend of mine thought he had bent valves, actually had a burnt valve and was wondering what are the causes of such...

Burnt valves are caused by a "tight" valve adjustment. The "tight" valve adjustment doesn't allow the valve to seat and seal properly.
