Default Legend brake question.

Here's one for ya. Haven't seen this question come up on any of the previous shreads. I have an 96 LX w/o ABS. I am doing the rear disc / Legend caliper / V6 rotor upgrade. How did you guys adapt the V6/ABS master cylinder to your old brake lines? The rear most line coming out or the master cylinder is a larger fitting than the old one. I can't find a fitting at any parts house around here. Any help?

Are you talking about tow different swaps here?

Rear disc swap...

Legend caliper/Wagon Rotor swap...

and why are you having to play with the master cylinder?

Only two swaps. Non ABS LX had drums and small rotors. I am putting rear disc and big rotors. To correctly utilize the brakes, you need to use the right sized master cylinder. So I am using the V6 master cylinder. The brake line on the rear of the master cylinder has a larger fitting then the factory one.

Am I the only one who has tried to change to the correct master cylinder? Does the swaps work with the stock master cylinder?

By the way, I would never want Honda ABS on my car. Not after the problems they have had with the accumulators.

no idea.

I seem no problem with the using the accord master cylinder. try it with the stock MC. then switch it if you want. let us know the difference.

I'm trying to use the Accord V6 ABS Master cylinder so I can have the correct volume and bias front to rear.

Often when you do a brake conversion to disk you get a soft pedal that is why he is switching master cylendars I assume. Wether you use the legend one or one out of some other honda is the question you might also need to switch the proportioning valve too

From what I can tell, there is a proportioning valve on my LX but not on the ABS models. I think it was all handled by the modulator. BUT, the area of the master cylinders ARE different so that is why I am wanting to change it. If people have used the stock master cylinders with no side effects, I will use that. I was just trying to have the best braking possible.

Yes, the LX non-ABS, EX-ABS and V6 ABS are ALL different. That is why I am trying this. Like I said, I just want to make it as close to perfect as I can. But, if the stock one is fine, I'll use it. I just assumed everyone changed master cylinders in this swap.

Here's the funny part, I can't seem to find my stock one anywhere! I think it got thrown out already

Since it seems to be of now interest, I found a car in a local yard and cut the fitting off. Turns out, the line is the same diameter, the fitting is just bigger. Honda.

I'll let everyone know how it works.

I'm confused??? What swap are you doing, the Legend front and Accord EX rear. Or are you trying to put the legend calipers and Accord V6 rotors on the rear, is that even possible? Either way, if your switching your rear brakes to disc you will need to change the Master Cylinder. SCC did that to there project Civic a couple months ago I think, they had to upgrade the MC because they had upgraded the braking system.

Yes, V6 front rotors, Legend front calipers and EX rear disc conversion. I am trying to use the correct master cylinder for this swap (Accord V6 EX) but the lines do not fit the master cylinder.

It does if it needs to be a bigger fitting to use the correct master cylinder and NOBODY makes the fitting but Honda.

By the way, only the "less fortunate" think that size doesn't matter
