Default Deglazing a Block

ok so my motor eats up a lot of oil, about 2qt's a week driving about 300 miles.
the motor is a GSR block bored to a 1.9 with RS Machine pistons.
the motor has about 6k miles on it after a rebuild.
i did a compression test on the block and they all read 238 but the #3 piston reads 220 ish.
so i know that piston is the one burning all the oil.

i sent the head to the machine shop to get checked and evrytthing came back A OK.

i know i cant bore the block out anymore cause its already .100 over, so my question is will deglazing my block and putting new piston rings work.

what are the chances it will work and want are the chances it will fail?

thanx.

How hard is it to figure out the probability of 'will work vs won't work'? It's a 50% chance it will work and 50% chance it won't. If the walls are out of round, tapered or have scratches you can feel, you're SOL. If not, your in luck.

its not really 50/50, taking in acounts how many miles the block has on it how hard i drive it, their are a lot of things that can come into play.

next answer please.

also is it worth taking it to the machine shop to find out if its good or bad, should i just save the 150 and buy a new block and use all the parts from my GSR to build a LSV or find a good GSR to build.

Are you serious? You're asking for definate answer online? Why don't you ask your machinist or post some pics of the cylinder walls, or post some specs on the cylinder walls? How do you honestly expect a definative answer with the information you gave in your original post? Please list some of the "things that can come into play" so we can make a better educated guess?
Or better yet, I'll save you some time so you can sleep, 99% it will work, 1% chance it won't.

Like the OP said, to many factors to consider, so why bother even guessing.

I was just saying this in a different thread the other day. People hear B20s are identical to B18s and then go around thinking they can bore their B18 out to 84-85mm. What a shame another good block wasted.

You yourself said it. There are many factors to consider, mileage, driving conditions, etc. Yet you didn't bother to list any of these parameters for us to take into consideration to give you an educated guess. It's people like you that made people like DonF, MOTU and CC not give a ish anymore.
You post up numbers like you even know what you're talking about, then when people give you the correct answer, which is what you don't wanna hear, you talk ish. Take you punk a$$ back to NWP, you won't be missed hear.

Sounds like you just need to take that **** to a machine shop and pay away....cause you dont know wtf you're talking about. You dont know the bore of your engine, why its "burning" oil or anything in between. 220+ compression is NOT causing the engine to burn 2qts of oil per week. 6k on a rebuild....220psi compression...doesnt sound like you bore/hone your engine at all. Sounds like you need to figure out where that freakin oil leak is.
