Default Blox TB problem

Made a dumb move on my part, however now I need to find a solution to the problem. (I know, i should of gone a different route with the TB)

Purchased a blox 76mm TB to go on my modded intake manifold, which has been double stacked/ported, and the TB opening was ported to 72mm.

Theres a slight gap for the vacuum port running up into the TB for the idle control, so now the car will not idle. I tried making a gasket for just that area to block it off and it's sealed up as far as i can tell but the car still will not idle.

Some info on the setup:
h23/vtec
built head (P&P, springs, retainers, crower 3 cams)
type s pistons

the car would start/idle (untuned) prior to the install of this TB, worst case i go back to the stock one but I'd really like to avoid that.

-- Yes i searched and couldn't find any info on this problem, only blox TB's for sale and what not. A link to info, or posted info would be appreciated.

Thanks

why would you feel that a throttle body that big was needed? im just curious and trying to understand the logic behind the reason.

Got a deal on it, was simply the reason.

I'm just throwing this out there to try and understand this type of "deal" logic that I see so often....but if you got a "deal" on a hooker and she wasn't someone you'd be attracted to, would you still "pick it up"?

It depends on how drunk I am.

Logic and reason often do not apply to parts purchases by some consumers.

Heres how i look at it:

It was nearly free, I'm running out of money and need the car (which i've been making car payments/full coverage payments on for the last year while it's just sat in my garage) running again. It was this or a stock one, i figured i could possibly benefit off of a larger throttle body.

As stated in the VERY first sentence in my original post, it was a dumb move; but now i gotta make it work.

Which i have done, so this can be locked/closed deleted now

What exactly do you mean by "will not idle"? Idles too low, too high, jumps around, etc. What happens when you disconnect the IACV? If its too high or jumping up and/down then I suggest some carb cleaner and fixing your vacuum leak.

Why couldn't you have sold the large throttlebody when you realized it would be a bad move and use a stock one which would have given you better performance?

It would idle too low and just stall out (not enough air getting through it)

Made some adjustments, figured out a solution, and she purrs again.

It's not the best throttle body by any means, but for right now, it works.

not unless you want to be on honda-tech defending the quality of your laughter against obx's cheaper laughter.
